Majura Primary School expectations for Coeducators
Co-educators
At Majura we have a team of expert co-educators with a culture of excellence and a student-centred focus on learning. Our co-educators work with teachers and executive staff to support our students with greatest needs.
As a co-educator at Majura you are expected to:
- Arrive by 8:30 to meet our staffing officer, Ros, and prepare for your day.
- Finish time is 3:30 and if the classroom teacher doesn’t require support during this time, the library or front office staff are always keen for assistance between 3:00-3:30.
- Work collaboratively with teaching staff, sharing ideas and feedback on student support; ask the teacher what they expect of you.
- Be flexible and proactive - if a student to whom you are assigned is away or not requiring assistance, talk to the teacher or staffing officer to arrange support elsewhere.
- Support whole class learning where needed.
- Support students with toileting needs.
- Mobile phones should be kept away when in class except for in emergencies.
- Please bring a hat to wear on duty, please keep your phone on you during duties in case of emergency.
